practice stRategies with David Allen Moore
In this video, we're back with expert educator and bassist David Allen Moore to talk through some of his favourite ways to tackle tricky passages in the repertoire. Using an example from the last movement of Mozart 35, David demonstrates two methods he uses to become familiar with the music. He starts by breaking the passage down by fingerings, then shifting and then adding string crossings. He also describes identifying pairs of notes that are the most challenging to you and using those to determine your practice tempo.
