Paul Chambers Solo Transcription
Paul Chambers (April 22, 1935 – January 4, 1969) was one of the original innovators of jazz bass, so it's good practice for us to study and learn his solos to improve our technique and to learn some classic lines. This lesson guides you through the solo that Paul Chambers plays on the track 'Blue Spring Shuffle' from the 1960 record 'Quiet Kenny' by Kenny Dorham. This video is a preview lesson from John Goldsby’s 5-hour course on soloing (Tell Your Story) where he teaches many different classic transcriptions from the great jazz bassists and guides you through them. John's also joined by a band in the course to provide band backing tracks for you to practice along with at home. So, make sure to download the transcription and listen the backing tracks below and play along!
