Double Bass Lesson by Joseph Conyers

In this video, we are joined by Joseph Conyers, the principal bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and teacher at Juilliard, New York. Joseph teaches how to approach phrasing the famous double bass solo from the opening of the 3rd movement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. It’s a deceptively difficult passage to play cleanly, so be sure to see how he approaches it.
