In this video I review Thomastik Infeld’s ‘Spirocore Weich’ double bass strings. These are a classic steel string that have been used by countless double bassists over the years. Particularly popular amongst jazz bassists they are widely recognized as “the reference standard” against which other strings are evaluated.
In this video I share my experiences and give playing examples of pizzicato and arco.
Spirocore are a steel string and ‘weich’ means soft (light gauge). To learn more about these strings please visit the Thomastik Infeld website.

It would be great to hear your thoughts on these strings. Have you tried them? What did you think? Join us in the comments to keep the conversation going.
