Mario’s Brother – Fun Study Piece For Double Bass

In this video I teach you a fun study piece I wrote for the double bass called ‘Mario’s Brother’. It reminds me of music from vintage computer games, so I named it after a favourite character! However, although the music is very light hearted, there’s some technical challenges to keep you on your toes. These include combining the bass line with the melody, playing in thumb position, the use of chords, slides and more.

If you would like the transcription and backing track for this lesson check out the Discover Double Bass Lessons Guide.

I hope you enjoy ‘Mario’s Brother’ and if you record your version please let me know as I would love to hear  it!

Best of luck with your practice! Cheers Geoff
