Interview and Performance with Valentina Ciardelli

We are thrilled to introduce the wonderful Valentina Ciardelli as the next interview guest from our UK-based interview series. Watch her interview and solo performance of her own composition, ‘Zen Meditation Nº1’ below.

Valentina is from Lucca, Italy, and studied at Royal College of Music, London and Trinity Laban with Leon Bosch, where she now teaches with Leon. She plays and composes a variety of styles including classical, jazz, and contemporary music. Her work is focused on expanding the virtuoso double bass repertoire, especially transcribing the music of Frank Zappa which you can explore through her YouTube channel or Patreon channel. She is part of the harp and double bass duo 'The Girls in the Magnesium Dress' with harpist Anna Quiroga. Valentina also composes double bass music, which we talk about in this interview.
