Interview with Jasper Høiby
Live Q&A from the 2021 Dutch Double Bass Festival
In this live interview, Geoff Chalmers interviews Danish bassist Jasper Høiby at the 2021 Dutch Double Bass Festival. Jasper founded the trio ‘Phronesis’ in 2005 which has toured extensively in Europe and North America and won numerous awards. As a sideman, Jasper Høiby has performed and recorded with many world-renowned jazz artists, including Mark Guiliana, Django Bates, Shai Maestro, Jeff Ballard, Julian Joseph, Julian Arguelles, Kurt Elling, Wolfgang Muthspiel, and Gwilym Simcock.
In addition to Phronesis, his current projects include Jasper Høiby’s Planet B, an Electro-Acoustic bass-led project featuring Josh Arcoleo (sax) and Marc Michel (drums); and Jasper Høiby's FELLOW CREATURES featuring Laura Jurd (trumpet), Mark Lockheart (sax), Will Barry (piano), and Jon Scott (drums).
