Daniel Casimir Interview/Performance
A huge thank you to Daniel for taking time out of his busy touring schedule to join me at the DDB office and discuss our love of jazz bass. From his musical origins to what he's learnt playing on some of the biggest stages, we cover a ton in this video!
Meet Daniel
In this video, we meet U.K based Daniel Casimir to discuss his career and experience of working on the London jazz scene. Daniel is an incredible bassist, band leader and composer who's equally at home as a side man, or leading his own big band. He's played with numerous esteemed musicians both in the U.K and across the globe and his most recent album, Balance, has been nominated for Jazzwize Album of the Year.
We cover Daniel's switch from electric to upright bass, his inspirations, composition and arranging for a big band, his technique, gear and setup and much more. There was also time for a short solo performance of the classic jazz standard, Beatrice by Wayne Shorter.
