In this video, we have the enormous pleasure of welcoming our latest Masterclass artist, the great Avishai Cohen. Known for his work as a jazz bassist at the cutting edge of improvised music and also as a singer, bandleader and prolific composer. Avishai’s recorded works have redefined the role of the jazz trio for a generation with world-renowned albums such as his 2008 masterpiece 'Gently Disturbed' and with compositions such as the wildly popular 'Remembering'.

We unpack his signature sounds, approach to double bass technique, composition and improvisation. Hosted by DDB founder Geoff Chalmers, this Masterclass provides a unique insight into the double bass techniques and musical world of a legendary artist. The Masterclass comprises two and a half hours of videos, with detailed transcriptions of Avishai Cohen's musical examples.
