In this lesson I teach you how to play double bass harmonics. To help demonstrate I use a riff that works well as a bass introduction to the jazz standard ‘Blue Bossa’. Then I talk you though the best way to play them and explain how to add them into your improvised walking lines and solos.
Using harmonics on the upright bass can help you to improve your tuning by using them as tuning anchors, as well as adding a new range of sounds to your palette. In this video I show you how to get started with this essential technique.
I hope you enjoy the lesson and if you have any questions, requests for future topics and feedback please leave a comment below.
