Founder of Discover Double Bass, Geoff Chalmers, interviewed Larry Grenadier when he was on his European tour with the Brad Mehldau Trio performing at the Barbican Centre, London. They had a great time backstage at the Barbican, talking about Larry’s experiences as a world-class jazz bassist.
In part one of this interview, Larry and Geoff discuss Larry’s experiences rehearsing and performing with the trio, Larry’s bass influences, and his experience preparing and making records including his latest solo album The Gleaners.
